Patient Information
Prevention

to maintaining oral health and timely diagnosis and treatment
when needed.
Cleaning , X-ray , Sealant , Fluoride Treatment.
Periodontics
| Scaling : A treatment for gum disease
involving removal of hardened plaque (tartar or calculus)
from teeth. |
 |
 |
Root Planing : Deep cleaning of
the teeth to remove hardened plaque and to smooth rough
root surfaces so the gum can heal. Local anesthesia may
be used. |
Restorations
: Restoring (Filling) lost tooth structure
with amalgam, metal, porcelain or composite resin.
| |
 Composite Filling |
 Old insufficient Amalgam Filling |
|
|
White
Filling : Composites are not only used
to restore decayed areas, but are also used for cosmetic
improvement of the smile by changing the color of the
teeth or reshaping disfigured teeth. |
| Amalgam
Filling : These have been proven to be
excellent cost effective filling over the years , but
with a wide selection of material now available, the amalgam
filling has become obsolete , and is rarely done in this
practice. |
 |
 |
Inlay : A custom-made cast gold or porcelain,
alloy that is cemented to a previously prepared cavity
in the tooth. A stronger and longer-lasting alternative
to amalgam or composite filling. |
| Onlay : A gold or porcelain inlay extended
to cover the cusps for protection of the tooth, leaving
more natural tooth than a crown. |
 |
Porcelain Inlays&Onlays
: are often prefered by dentists, rather than composite or amalgam
filling. In suitable teeth, these are excellent long term alternatives,
although they are of generally more cost.

 Discolored Teeth |
|
|
Veneers : Plastic or porcelain facing
which is bonded directly to a tooth to improve its appearance,
producing a very natural appearance. |
| Bleaching : Whitening of the teeth with
a combination of solutions(weak acids and hydrogen peroxide).
This procedure can be done at home (home bleaching ) or
in the office (power bleaching). |
 |
Crowns & Bridges
: can be made of metal (gold or non-precious
metal), porcelain or porcelain fused to metal. They are strong
and last for about ten years if you take good care of them.
 All-Ceramic Crowns |
Crown
: A cap or cover for a decayed or damaged tooth that restores
it to its normal shape and size and cover for future protection. |
Bridge : Appliance cemented to teeth adjacent
to a space that replaces one or more missing teeth; usually
cemented or attached to teeth or implants adjacent to the
space. |
 |
Denture
: A removable appliance replacing missing
upper or lower teeth .
Partial Denture with metal frame-lower |
Partial
Dentures : can replace one or more teeth in
an arch. |
| Complete
or Full Denture : replaces all the teeth in
an arch. |
 Complete Denture-Acrylic-Lower |
Endodontic
(Root Canal Treatment) : A procedure
used to save an abscessed tooth in which the pulp chamber is
cleaned out, disinfected and filled with a permanent filling.
| Dental Surgery : |
Simple Extraction and Surgical
Extraction (Impacted tooth). |
 |
Implants
(Artificial Roots) : are placed into
the jaw bone and allowed to osseointegrate with the bone before
crowns, bridges, or overdentures are attached to them.
